Record Store Day

recordstoreOn 20 April, 2013 is the international Record Store Day.  A day celebrating the audio format that begun the distribution of music industry. On that day, local record stores host various events, while labels issue special record releases for that purpose.

You can download the official app RSD guide which will allow you to learn all about it, as well as direct you to your nearest record store (no matter your location).

The list of all the records which will be released on that day is available here. Including the likes of The Flaming Lips, The Cure, David Bowie, Shearwater, MGMT, Mumford & Sons, REM, Pulp, the soundtrack of Dazed and Confused, Lullaby renditions by The White Stripes, Tame Impala, Tegan & Sara, Thurston Moore, the ost of Drive, Sigur Ros etc

Jack White is the official ambassador for 2013’s Record Store Day.

The official film of the RSD is Last Shop Standing: The Rise and Fall and Rebirth of the Independent Record Shop. You can watch the trailer below:
