random ramblings of an unconscious mind
The 85th Oscar Academy Awards are upon us, and everyone is making sure that they have seen all the nominated films, so as to be able to back-up their preferences.
In Greece the subscription cable channel NOVA has been broadcasting live the awards for the past 16 years, and due to the time difference the ceremony starts at 3:30am, which corresponds to pulling an all-nighter if you wish to watch them live. For those who are not subscribed to NOVA, as well as those who wish to watch the ceremony on the big screen, EMBASSY NOVA ODEON cinema in Athens and Olympion Cinema in Thessaloniki will be hosting a live OSCAR screening on the 24th of February, which will include the red-carpet entries.
Furthermore, for the third consecutive year Greek bloggers have been voting their own BlogOscars. This initiative has become an online institution for Greek film-fans, presenting their own take on the movies that deserve an Oscar award, even if they were not nominated for one. Those who will participate in the voting will have to post their nominees for each category during 15-22 February. The results of BlogOscars will be announced the week following the Oscars, concluding with a big party at BIOS on the 2nd of March.
