random ramblings of an unconscious mind
Sundays are always nice for chilling on the couch and catching up on movies, series, and books. Today I decided to catch-up on Husbands‘ season 2 of the delightful web-series written by Jane Espenson; known for her work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Once Upon a Time, Dollhouse, Battlestar Galactica and even contributed to Game of Thrones, talk about a rich CV.
I was thrilled with the 3 new episodes, which included some very special guest appearances. If series dealing with the issue of marriage equality in a comedic setting are not your cup of tea, you might at least want to check Husbands out so you can see sexy pillow fight between Tricia Helfer and Dichen Lachman, or Joss Whedon as a sports agent (the man can act), or Amber Benson, Nathan Fillion, Magda Apanowciz, Clare Grant and the list can go on. It is said we should expect to see Felicia Day, and Emma Caulfield on the following episodes. I have to admit that i am not familiar with the two male leading actors: Sean Hemeon, and Brad Bell, but i was glad to see the adorable Alessandra Torresani (Caprica) on a different role.
The premise of the series is that Cheeks (actor) and Brady (baseball player) wake up married after a wild night in Vegas. During the first season the couple are coming to terms with their marriage, with the help of their alcoholic-prone friend Haley. On the second season we fast forward three weeks later, and check on the happily married couple in their house, trying to deal with how they wish to portray their relationship to the media.
Husbands also made the jump from video to paper and has issued four comics up to now.
