Secret Swimming

Today, September 1st, the Secret Swimming is taking place at 4pm GMT.

The Secret Swimming community will attempt to break the record for the world’s largest swim on the same day. One million secret swimmers around the world, together or alone will swim on the same day at the same time. To participate you need to register with a facebook event, or create your own and register them at join@secretswimming.com. All participants need to bring a red balloon, inspired by the beautiful short film, The Red Balloon.All the swimmers will have their red balloons visible on their journey to the secret swim. At 1600 swimmers will dive in, holding their balloon, each swimming group will hold up their red balloon and form the letters P E A C E. L O V E . S W I M. S E C R E T. The swims will be recorded in film and photography.

Being interested in this notion, i investigated this “movement” and realized that most mass swimming events in the past had been skinny dipping. I admit that i was surprised.
