random ramblings of an unconscious mind
The past month i was reading about a charity auction, where the highest bidder would get David Lynch to read his/her script and provide notes/insights over dinner with the director. This intrigued me, the fact that if you have money to spend you can arrange to spend time with people you admire, and the proceedings will go to a good cause. The website hosting the auction was Charity Buzz, which offers many similar auctions such as attending red carpet film premieres, spending the day with the likes of Lady Gaga and Bill Clinton.
For example you can bid for 2 tickets to the premiere and after party for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie on September 27 in LA, plus hotel stay & limousine. Or better yet have a set visit to HBO’s new successful series “The Newsroom” and have lunch with Sam Waterston in LA. Moreover you can pay for an audition with Peter Golden, Executive VP, Talent & Casting of CBS TV in LA. Do not be discouraged there are other available options that are not taking place in LA, such as tickets for Project Runway’s Fashion Week in NYC.
The site offers endless options for those who can afford them, including stand up, visit sets, fashion, travel, award shows, music shows backstage, memorabilia and the list goes on.
One of the things i would bid on (if i had the relevant capital) would be to walk the red carpet and get 2 tickets for the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards on 23 September in LA.
