How would you like to have a dinner for two, along with Sir Terry Pratchett, and get a signed book (as if the dinner is not enough to convince you)? Well, if you have money and are willing to spend it at an auction on ebay, which promises that exact thing, then have a go at it! The auction is legit and the funds raised will go towards supporting Dignity in Dying‘s campaign to legalise assisted dying in the UK, which is funded entirely by the donations from members, supporters and Patrons.
Deadline for your final bid is on July 4th, 2012.
Additional information about this bidding auction series: “Bidding For Choice 2012 is a unique online auction hosted by UK-based campaigning organisation Dignity in Dying. The auction features over 18 items from our Patrons, who include the likes of stage greats Sir Patrick Stewart and Janet Suzman; film and TV stars Hugh Grant and Kim Cattrall; and distinguished writers Ian McEwan and Sir Terry Pratchett. On offer at auction are: treasured personal items, film and TV-memorabilia, signed books and film scripts, and even a dinner date at an exclusive private member’s club in London! Each donation has been specially selected and each auction is open for just 10 days. For a full list of items and their start and end dates, see Dignity in Dying’s eBay About Me page or sign up to our social media sites for updates! (Twitter and Facebook).”
Moreover, as promised, the uploaded video of the discussion panel with both Pratchett and Baxter is available to watch here.
As well as an upcoming event: Sir Terry Pratchett in Elly, 17 September, 2012, £10 tickets for adults and £ 5 for children, with the price of each ticket to be redeemable against a copy of Dodger on the evening (one ticket redeemable per book).
